Our Approach

Step 1: The initial exam

The first step in your orthodontic care is an initial exam during which we can get acquainted and evaluate your basic orthodontic needs. This brief exam enables us to determine if treatment is necessary, when it should start, and how long it might take. Recommendations can often be made to influence the proper eruption of permanent teeth to simplify future treatment. In this case, you will be seen on a recall basis to periodically monitor tooth eruption.

Step 2: Diagnosis

If treatment is indicated, an appointment will be scheduled to obtain x-rays, impressions, and photographs of your mouth and face. This is the second step in your orthodontic care. These diagnostic tools, which we call “records,” assist the doctor in diagnosing your needs and formulating a treatment plan.

Step 3: Consultation

The third step in your care is the consultation appointment. At this time Dr. Fehrman will review your records with you, explain in detail the nature and extent of your orthodontic problems, outline a course of treatment to correct them, and provide you with the total cost and approximate length of treatment.

We want to answer any questions you may have.

We recommend you write them down and bring them
with you to discuss during the consultation. Financial arrangements and a payment plan will be discussed at
this time.
